I have been a Pilates instructor now for 3 years and trained originally with Future Fit. I have very recently undertaken training with Body Control Pilates and am working towards my final assessment with them. My background originally was in childcare, but I wanted a career change which involved fitness as it has been a passion of mine for many years. I chose Pilates as I value the importance of posture, mobility and flexibility and wanted to support people in improving their quality of life through movement. We spend so much time participating in activities which limit range of movement and Pilates not only improves this, but provides a mind body connection, which in turn eases anxiety and stress. Having undertaken my recent training, I now want to specialise further in the more elderly population and other specialised areas, such as neurological conditions.
